Look Up: One Year of 2x4 Coaching

In June, 2x4 Coaching turns one!

A year is a strange thing to measure. Day-to-day, it never feels like much is happening. You show up, you do the work, you do it again tomorrow. Progress hides inside the routine — and the routine, by design, asks you to keep your head down and keep going.

That's true of building a business, and it's true of training. Most of the real work is quiet: the session you almost skipped and did anyway, the set that felt heavy until one week it didn't. The unglamorous middle of things, where nothing feels like a milestone. The daily grind is honest work, and it's where progress actually lives.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that we don't do the grind for its own sake. We do it so that, every now and then, we can stop, look up, and see how far we've come.

That's what an anniversary is for. It's permission to pause — to look back at the version of you from a year ago and recognize the distance between then and now. That distance didn't arrive in a single dramatic moment. It was built quietly, one ordinary day at a time. But it's real, it's yours, and it deserves to be seen.

I've felt this myself this year. Building 2x4 has been 365 small, undramatic days — and only when I stop to look up do I see what they added up to: a studio, a community, people I get to coach toward their next big goal.

So this is your invitation to look up to and honour the progress you've made.

Thank you for being part of this first year. Whether you've trained with me, followed along, or cheered from the sidelines — you're part of how far this has come.

Here's to looking up and to another year of work towards our goals.

One year in — and I'd love to hear from you. What's a "looking up" moment from your own year? Something you couldn't do twelve months ago, a goal you've quietly closed in on? Share it with me on Instagram @2x4coaching. Let's celebrate how far we've all come.
